With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Mary Eole Wolf, our loving and devoted wife, mother, and friend to all whose lives she touched, on May 22, 2019.
She left us peacefully at her residence in Lake of the Woods, Virginia, after complications from corticobasal degeneration, a very rare form of Parkinson’s disease. She was in her 85th year.
Mary was born Eole Pretto December 1, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois to Anthony and Adelia Pretto. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Jacob (Jack) Wolf.
She was the cherished mother and mother in law of Nicki and Ken Buell, Jamie and Walter Tanner, and Andrew and Heather Wolf. Her beloved grandchildren - Katie, Tori, Emily, JT, Lena, and Drew - were the light of her life. During her illness, she particularly enjoyed the company of her first great grandchild, Maddie.
Mary lived a full life, and usually had at least ten projects going at one time. She loved gardening, sewing, knitting, and furniture restoration. She had a passion for large family gatherings, and enjoyed good food, great music, and loud conversation. Most of all she loved her family, and instilled those strong values in all of us. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
A celebration of Mary’s life will be held at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, 1009 Stafford Avenue, Fredericksburg, Virginia on Friday, May 31, 2019 beginning at 3:00 PM. Father Michael J. R. Kelly will say the mass.
Donations in lieu of flowers to Cure PSP, Incorporated are welcome. Online donations in Mary’s honor can be made at https://www.psp.org/donate.
