Obituary

Joseph John Adams, of Culpeper, VA, 93, was called home by his Lord on Tuesday, September 17th, 2013 with family by his side. He passed away peacefully after a brief illness. Joseph was born in Paterson, NJ to William and Rose Adams who immigrated from Lithuania. He had one sister, Elenor.

Joe earned a B.S. from Newark College of Engineering and his Masters from Fordham University. Joe was a commissioned officer in the United States Navy and proudly served his country in WWII. He married Julia Augustis in 1945 and raised 4 children while working for The DuPont Company in Wilmington, DE for 30 years. Joseph's primary focus in life was his Catholic faith, family, friends and community service.

In 2005, Joseph and Julia retired to the lovely community of Culpeper, VA to be closer to family. Joe was an inspiration to all and his sense of humor never wavered. He leaves behind his four children, John J. Adams, Janet E. Kovach (Lou), Jill A. Devine and June M. Brick (Jon), six grand-children, nine great grand-children (two born just this year who bare his name sake) and one great great-grand-child.

A celebration of his life will be held at Precious Blood Catholic Church, Culpeper on Friday, September 20th at 11:00 a.m.. The Holy Rosary will be said at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to The Hospice of the Rapidan. On line guestbook and obituary are available at www.johnsoncares.com.
