Genelle McMurray Rudolph, 85, formerly of Unionville, and currently of Locust Grove, passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at her residence. Born on January 4, 1933 in Snowflake, Va., she was the daughter of the late Alva Garfield and Sarah Jane Foster McMurray. She was preceded in death by her parents; her twin sister, Genette Snapp; and her brother, Don T. McMurray.
Genelle is survived by her husband of 65 years, Quentin Rudolph; daughters, Katie Wilson (Doyle), Karen Nastelli (John); brother, Wayne McMurray; sisters-in-law, Brenda McMurray and Janis McMurray; good friend Phyllis Highland; grandchildren, John Nastelli (Andrea), Sarah Kidd (Jeff); Alison Adkins (Larry) and Shaun Wilson (Tommy); great-grandchildren, Noah and Ava Nastelli, Morgan and Ruby Adkins, Madison and McKinley Kidd, and Colin and Olivia Wilson.
Genelle was a loving wife, mother, grandmother. She was very spiritual and wanted to make everything beautiful. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Home, Locust Grove, Va. The Rev. Larry Haun will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice of the Piedmont. An online guestbook is available at johnsoncares.com.
