Gail Dorene Clark was born September 28, 1969, to the late Joseph L. Clark, Sr. and the late Corine Henderson Clark of Culpeper, Virginia. Also proceeded in death by her daughter; Tatiana Clark. After many years of sickness, she went to be with the Lord on March 17, 2020 with her loving son at her side, as always.
Gail attended and graduated from Orange County High School. She also successfully completed two years of Job Corps earning her certificate in Office Administration. She was a lifelong & devoted member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Gail had moved last year from Culpeper to Roanoke, Virginia where she was beginning a new chapter in her life.
In her early years in the workforce she worked for Burger King in Roanoke, Virginia. She also worked for the following places in and around Culpeper, Virginia; Wendy’s, McDonalds, KFC, Cintas and Goodwill. Gail also served as the family babysitter for many of her nieces and nephews (and she loved that job the most).
She leaves to cherish the memory of her life, the one true love of her life, her only baby boy; Christopher Joseph Clark. He will miss her more than he can express but her warmth and love will live in his heart forever. And he plans to grow up to become the wonderful man she knew he would and make her proud.
In addition to her son, she leaves to cherished memories with her siblings. Sisters: Diann Jackson, Joyce Manning, Patricia (Daryl) Gaither, Annette Clark. Her brother: Joseph (Jody) Clark. Nieces and Nephews: Jessica Gaither, Sean Manning, Tiffanie Murphy, Johnathan Clark, Dexter (Tamikia) Manning, DeShown Clark, Jaylyn Carter. And a host of great nieces and nephews that she adored dearly.
Also to her buddy, caregiver, counselor, brother-in-law, riding partner and the fella she fussed with every day, Daryl Gaither, we (her siblings and son) can never say how much we truly appreciate ALL you did (and continue to do) for Gail and Chris. We love you. And to Donna Murvin you not only stepped up as a friend for Trish, but became a friend to Gail and you were there for her whenever we called on you (and even when we didn’t). Thank you our dear friend.
In Gratitude: The family wishes to express our heartfelt gratitude and sincere thanks for all of the prayers, many acts of kindness, and genuine love expressed by each of you. You have encouraged our hearts and we thank God for you. May God continue to shower you with blessings, as you have been a blessing to us during this time of sorrow. Special thanks to Dr. Robert Swanson and his staff at Jefferson Surgical Clinic, Dr. Mellon, Dr. Matos and the staff on 6 Mtn ICU (especially Nurse Lindsay) at Carilion Clinic Roanoke Memorial Hospital. And we are eternally grateful to Julie Wright (who stayed by our side) and our 10 South family for your continued support.
